  Tree Planting – Volunteers Wanted: World Environment Day
  Help plant habitat trees and shrubs in the Wildlife Corridor for Cockatoo and small animal refuge. Revegetation of this site began in 2007 and as well as beautifying the area, it creates habitat for quendas and small birds in this part of campus. There will also be another planting day on 22nd June in the Banksia Woodland, so come along to one or all events if possible.

  National Volunteer Week Launch
  The Murdoch Volunteering Hub and the Star Peer Tutoring Program want to celebrate volunteering on campus during the National Volunteer Week. To kick-start the week, we have organised a Launch on Monday the 13th of May for staff and students who volunteer and for all the volunteering groups on campus.

  Help restore and conserve one of the black cockatoo and quenda conservation reserves at the Murdoch campus. Students, staff and community are all invited. Join members of the Murdoch Environmental Restoration Group (MERG) and the University’s Environment and Sustainability team on Thursday 9th May from 9am, meeting at Car Park 8, and/or Thursday 23rd May. Tree guard removal, weeding and general TLC for the plants will be undertaken.

  Black Cockatoo Surveys - Volunteers Required and Training Available
  If you’re keen on helping with this year’s Great Cocky Count and weekly black cockatoo surveys please attend this training session (3rd April) and register your availability. Lots of trained volunteers are required to survey sites across Murdoch University’s South Street and Peel campuses for overnight roosting by Carnaby’s (and Forest Red-tailed) Black Cockatoos at sunset on Sundays and/or sunrise on Mondays from 7th April to 13th May.
