Mental Health Week 2025

Published: 6th October 2025

Mental Health Week in WA runs from 4–11 October with this year’s theme: “Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces”.

Mental Health Week 2025 630x380

This means having the power to take charge of your mental health journey and recovery, finding purpose and connection through meaningful work and study, and creating supportive environments, whether it’s in classrooms, workplaces, or student communities, where mental health is prioritised and people can thrive.

At Murdoch, Mental Health Week is a chance to pause, reconnect, and take practical steps toward looking after your own wellbeing, while also checking in with those around you. It only takes a minute or two thanks to Avi, a Masters of Counselling student who has developed the Mindful Murdoch project as part of the 2025 Students as Change Agents program.

Why Mental Health Matters

With exams coming up, assignments piling up, and daily pressures building, it’s easy to put your mental health on the back burner.

But caring for your mental wellbeing:

  • Helps you manage stress and anxiety
  • Builds resilience during tough times
  • Improves focus and academic performance
  • Strengthens your connection with others

Even small actions like taking a break, talking to someone, or attending a wellbeing activity can make a big difference.

What’s Happening on Campus?

This Week Is About You (and Us)

Let’s build a stronger student community by looking out for each other. Mental health is for everyone, and together, we can create a place where it’s OK to ask for help, take a break, or just talk things out.
