Need a quiet moment to reset during the day? Murdoch’s new Sensory Room is now open for trial use – a calm, quiet space designed to support students who may need a break from the busy campus environment. This space is here for you whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, need to decompress, or just want a moment of calm.
This temporary space is part of a pilot project developed through the Students as Change Agents initiative, in collaboration with the Murdoch neurodivergent community. It's a huge step toward making our campus more accessible, equitable, and comfortable for everyone.
- Location: Building 460, Room 1.014
- Available from now until 31 October 2025.
- No bookings required – just drop in!
- Maximum capacity: 6 people at a time
Please note: The Sensory Room is intended for individual use only, and not for social gatherings, study groups, or general recreational activities.
Our goal is to demonstrate the demand and impact of having a dedicated sensory space on campus. At the end of the trial, student feedback and usage data will help support the case for a permanent space in the future, so your engagement truly matters.
Drop in, take a break, and share your thoughts!
