The 2nd Western Australian Colloquium of Arachnology is a conference connecting students and scientists over the study of arachnids. World-renowned scientists will come together in Murdoch's stunning Boola Katitjin building to share their research methods, and latest findings in diverse areas like taxonomy, systematics, ecology, physiology, and behavior.
Western Australia is home to more than 800 known species of intriguing arachnids, each with their own complex physiologies, behaviors, and habitats. WA is also home to some of the world's leading arachnid taxonomists, Dr Volker Framenau and Dr Pedro Castanheira, invertebrate zoologists from Murdoch University's Harry Butler Institute.
Join Dr Framenau, Dr Castanheira, and a cluster of engaging local and international speakers from the arachnology community for the only colloquium of its kind in Western Australia, as we shed light on a range of interesting topics and developments, and exchange ideas to foster networking and collaboration.
The full program of engaging talks and discussions will be followed by a networking event on the Boola Katitjin balcony with light food and drinks. We hope you will join us.
