The Murdoch Global Competency Scholars: Indonesia program offers selected students the opportunity to spend four weeks in Lombok, combining language learning, cultural immersion, community engagement and research-based learning.
You’ll enrol in BUS276: Introduction to Global Competency and Employability and develop practical skills in:
- Intercultural communication
- Critical thinking and cultural intelligence
- Adaptability and working across cultures
- Curiosity, observation and inquiry
- Global career readiness
$4,000 funding available
Eligible Australian citizens can receive a $4,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant to support approved program expenses, including travel, accommodation, language training and in-country activities.
When will you travel?
Summer Term 2026: Travel to Lombok in January 2027 | 10 places
Summer Term 2027: Travel to Lombok in January 2028 | 10 places
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Murdoch University
- Be an Australian citizen eligible for New Colombo Plan funding
- Be in their second or third year of undergraduate study at the time of application
- Have a General Elective remaining in their degree that counts towards the core requirements of their course
- Be in satisfactory academic standing
Important: You cannot participate if BUS276 would be taken in addition to your core degree requirements.
Non-Australian citizens and permanent residents may apply as self-funded participants.
No prior international or language experience is required.
