  Academic Study Programs 2014
  The policy on Academic Study Programs is currently being revised. Consequently the application closing date for Academic Study programs to be considered for the 2014 calendar year has been extended to 1 June 2013. The details of the new policy will be available at the end of April.

  Announcement to all staff from the Vice Chancellor – Tuesday 16th April
  Dear Colleagues, You will be aware from recent media reports that the Federal Government has announced $2.3 billion of funding cuts to universities and student support from 2014 onwards. The cuts will strip $900 million from universities directly with the remainder of the burden falling on students. This reduction in funding comes less than six months after $1 billion of cuts to the university system were announced in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook.

  Reserve Conservation Morning – Come and Help!
  Help restore and conserve one of the black cockatoo and quenda conservation reserves at the Murdoch campus. Students, staff and community are all invited. Join members of the Murdoch Environmental Restoration Group (MERG) and the University’s Environmental and Sustainability team on Thursday 18th April from 9am, meeting at Car Park 8, or on 9th and 23rd May. Tree guard removal, weeding and general TLC for the plants will be undertaken.

  Welcome to the new Dean of Graduate Studies
  It gives me great pleasure to announce Professor Neal Enright has taken up the post of Dean of Graduate Studies for Murdoch University. Neal brings with him a wealth of experience as a researcher in Plant Ecology and a successful supervisor of more than 30 PhD and MPhil students. Neal has undertaken a number of senior academic roles here and at the University of Melbourne.   Mid Year Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) Scholarships now open.
  Murdoch has a number of APA Scholarships available to suitably qualified candidates for commencement of studies in Semester 2, 2013. The APA provides a stipend of $24,653 pa with supplementation to a total of $30,000 pa available in areas of strategic research strength.
