In mid-February, we will welcome 90 TCU students to Murdoch as part of TAP. All of the students will reside at Murdoch Village and all will attend classes over 14 weeks on campus, including 7 weeks of intensive English followed by 6 weeks of liberal arts study.

What does a Volunteer Buddy do?

As a TCU Volunteer Buddy, you will:

• Be matched up with a small group of 3-5 TCU students and assist them navigating Murdoch and life in Perth.
• Help and support the TCU students after their arrival on the 12^th of February.
• Get to meet and connect with, not only students from TCU, but a lot of other Murdoch students participating in the Buddy Program.
• Have opportunities to develop and participate in fun activities that encourage interaction and exploration of life in Australia.

What do I need to do to become a Volunteer Buddy?

As a TCU Volunteer Buddy, you will:

• Need to participate in a two-hour training session before the TCU students arrive at Murdoch.
• Be encouraged to participate in activities over the TCU students’ orientation in February.
• Please register as soon as to secure your spot as a Buddy.

What will I gain from this opportunity?

On a professional level, as a TCU Volunteer Buddy you will have an opportunity to develop:

• Skills that are valuable for future employment, including team building, planning, organisation and leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Cultural awareness and competence.

Additionally, you can record your volunteer hours on your Volunteering and Employment Transcript.
