Many of the conditions of employment we all enjoy at Murdoch University are contained in our Enterprise Agreement. This agreement is negotiated between staff and management at regular intervals.

Our current agreement will expire on 30 June 2016, and we will soon commence negotiations for a new enterprise agreement to cover all academic and professional staff of the University.

You have the right to appoint any person, including yourself, as your bargaining representative in these negotiations. You are under no obligation to do this. If you are a member of a union, your union will act as your bargaining representative unless you nominate an alternative.

I encourage you to view the attached Notice of Employee Representational Rights, which is a statutory form that sets out information about your rights to a bargaining representative.  You should read this carefully.  It also includes details of organisations you may contact for further information.
