Scheduled power outage – storm rectification works tomorrow
posted 25 May 2016 | Staff Announcement - (staff)
Following severe weather experienced across much of Perth last weekend, Murdoch University has scheduled essential electrical maintenance works tomorrow, Thursday 26 May, between 5:00am and 7:00am.
During this time a main high voltage substation serving the South Street campus will be reconfigured, interrupting the University’s mains power.
To mitigate risks and downtime on campus, works are scheduled for completion early morning but may encroach into normal working hours.
Please refer to this list of buildings affected by the outage. Access will not be available to buildings without power.
Power down your equipment
To minimise the risk of data loss and equipment damage, staff are advised to switch off computers and other equipment prior to the scheduled power shutdown, ideally before leaving work today.
Please ensure equipment of any colleagues who are not in the office is also checked and switched off.
During the outage, general lighting, air conditioning, house power (GPOs) and phones will be unavailable.
If you need assistance please contact the University’s Facilities Management Helpdesk by emailing FM.Helpdesk@murdoch.edu.au or call extension 2262.
The Property, Development and Commercial Services Office (PDCSO) apologises for any disruption that this may cause.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
